Event 90 - Autumn 2016 - Lingfield Park

59th Golf Day held on 14^th Sept 2016

Just nine for our 59^th golf day, and good to see Reg Salkilld back with us. Unfortunately the course condition was a little disappointing and the number of dog legs a few too many for my liking. The weather though was fantastic with just two players not daring to give their legs an airing. We started with a bowmaker played over eleven holes meaning we didn't cross the race track. The winning team got five points on five different holes, three fours pointers and three three pointers. Well done to Paul Colin and Peter. After sandwiches we played our 18 hole stableford. Scoring was not so good in the afternoon. Our first thee ball could do not better than 25 although Matt’s score did only include two blobs. The middle game did a little better. Shailen scored 27 enough for third. Our final match had the top two. Steve was tied first at the half way stage on 14 with Colin just a point behind. Steve was five ahead after 13 but Colin finished well with 2, 3, 3, 1, and 2. That meant it was dead level with Colin Fish winning on the countback for his fourth win of the Stableford Trophy.
